Medtronic Donates US$750,000 to Haiti’s Healthcare Infrastructure

6 January 2011

In addition to its donation of US$1.35 million in cash and products made early last year to address Haiti’s immediate recovery and healthcare needs in the wake of the devastating January 2010 earthquake, Medtronic is fulfilling its commitment of US$2.1 million with a further donation of US$750,000.

Part of the donation will go to Partners in Health to help complete construction of a public hospital, which will provide a wider array of diagnostics and therapeutics and will serve as a major teaching hospital. International Medical Corps will receive US$250,000 to work with Haiti’s Ministry of Public Health and Population to build professional development and training programs as well as developing policies that will improve healthcare delivery.
