Consultation: Improving advertising arrangements for therapeutic goods

8 July 2010

From the Therapeutic Goods Administration:

The TGA is seeking comments from interested parties on a number of proposed amendments to the arrangements for the regulation of therapeutic goods advertisements.

The proposed reforms range from the pre-approval process through the complaints handling and the level and type of sanctions.

Through the consultation process the TGA hopes to receive feedback that will help to inform future advertising arrangements that are clearer and simpler, reduce inconsistencies between advertising requirements for different types of therapeutic goods and provide more effective sanctions for those who breach the advertising requirements.
