The Sydney Morning Herald ran a great story recently on talented Crusaders rugby union player Robbie Fruean who has an artificial heart valve.

Robbie chose a porcine valve as a mechanical valve would have necessitated taking medication that would have meant the end of his rugby career.

Robbie Fruean’s story is a great example of how medical devices can help return people ‘to full life’.

The full story can be read here.
